Located in the southern part of the Greater Troyes area, Bréviandes is home to 2,400 people. Its centre is the focal point for village life, and local industries provide hundreds of jobs. To secure a long-term presence for La Poste, elected officials opted for a local solution. Thierry Blasco, Mayor of Bréviandes, tells us how: “The council looked into how post offices were changing, and the different kinds of postal coverage available. We decided to opt for a postal agency. It was the solution that best suits the area and the expectations of the community”.
The full range of La Poste services will be available: letters and parcels, sale of packaging, franking, cash transfers and withdrawals, collection of undelivered parcels, etc. Thierry Blasco adds: “In order to provide more services, the postal agency will also offer council services. This means the community will have a one-stop shop where they can access complementary municipal and postal services, as well as enjoying long opening hours. The postal agency opened on 4 September, and we are busier than we predicted”.
