La Poste group generates 44% of its sales internationally, and is present in 63 countries on 5 continents. Europe's leading express parcel operator, it delivered 2.1 billion parcels in 2023 under the DPD, SEUR, Chronopost and BRT brand names.

La Poste group was the first European postal operator to position itself in the express parcel market, for the rapid delivery of parcels weighing less than 30 kg, which until then had been dominated by American logistics integrators (UPS, FedEx, DHL). In 1999, he created the Geopost holding company and, through partnerships and acquisitions, built an entity capable of meeting the needs of international customers.

DPD, Germany's No. 2 parcel service, was the group's first international acquisition in 2001.

It gave rise to the international DPD brand, which brings together all La Poste Group's national and international express parcel activities.

This was followed by SEUR in Spain, Masterlink and then Siodemka in Poland, BRT in Italy, JadLog in Brazil, DPD Laser in South Africa, Ninja Van in Southeast Asia, etc.

Today, La Poste Group is the European leader in express parcels, with over 1,400 hubs and depots worldwide.

Setting course for international mail

Asendia was created in 2012 to join the efforts of La Poste and Swiss Post in international mail, then expanded into services for sending small goods, parcels and cross-border mail to businesses from 16 countries (Europe, North America and the Asia/Pacific region) and finally into technology services connecting major global brands to consumers. Starting with international mail, Asendia has become a market leader in international e-commerce services.

Previously part of the Services-Courrier-Colis branch, Asendia joins Geopost, the international parcel branch of La Poste group, Europe's leading parcel delivery network, to develop synergies and accelerate La Poste group's development in logistics and parcel services on a global scale, based on unprecedented growth in e-commerce.

A carbon commitment without borders

La Poste group's commitments in terms of urban pollution are implemented in France and wherever Geopost operates, for example in Spain through the SEUR brand.

Both in France and internationally, La Poste Group implements rigorous management of its CO₂ emissions.

Between 2013 and 2018, CO₂ emissions from its parcel-express activities were reduced by 10%, and since 2016, all remaining emissions have been offset (read La Poste commits to carbon neutrality). This makes Geopost, the world leader in parcel-express on the voluntary carbon offsetting market.

In France, the La Poste group is a major player in urban logistics, and is multiplying initiatives to reduce its C02 and fine-particle emissions in city centers: sorting infrastructures set up on the outskirts and pooled between several operators, delivery by electric vehicles, and delivery options that minimize kilometers.

Some initiatives are being exported. For example, the group has developed a worldwide network of Pickup relays and lockers, offering customers the choice of delivery to a retailer or to a locker open 24 hours a day.

Service innovation without borders

Thanks to the local experts in the Geopost network, La Poste Group benefits from in-depth knowledge of the markets in which it operates, and a panoramic view of local e-shopper practices and e-commerce trends in Europe, which Geopost shares every year in its "e-shopper barometer". The Group uses this intelligence to offer innovative services that meet the targeted needs of its customers in each country:

  • Predict: home delivery within a one-hour window, announced on the morning of delivery (by e-mail or SMS). A flexible service par excellence, Predict also offers the possibility, if the recipient so wishes, of rescheduling delivery from their smartphone or the Internet to another date or location: a new address, a neighbor's home or a Pickup relay of their choice.

  • The Pickup out-of-home delivery network: over 100,000 Pickup points (relays and lockers) in 30 countries worldwide. This network enables 95% of Europeans to be within 15 minutes of a Pickup point.

  • The myDPD portal: a recipient portal, accessible via an app and the web, which keeps recipients informed in real time about their delivery. Thanks to Live Tracking, they can follow the exact route of their parcel on a map. The recipient can also interact at any time: for example, redirect a parcel to a relay or a neighbor, or change the delivery date.

  • The Chronofresh offer: transporting foodstuffs without breaking the cold chain. DPD also delivers ambient and fresh products throughout Europe.

  • BioLogistic: temperature-controlled transport of healthcare products

  • Biocair: the specialist in the delivery of pharmaceutical, biotech and life science products
