Asendia reveals it is now 100% carbon neutral

Asendia will offset 100% of carbon emissions from 2022 including first mile collection and last-mile delivery. Emissions will be offset mostly by funding renewable energy production, these include windfarms.

Asendia, the joint venture between La Poste and Swiss Post, reveals it is 100% carbon neutral as of 2022. The firm has focused on sustainability since its foundation in 2012 and has spent the last 3 years extending its sustainability strategy in response to growing concerns regarding the environmental impact of supply chain operations.

Windfarm

Asendia is leading the way proving how the sector can neutralise its environmental footprint.

In 2020, Asendia offset emissions on international transport within Europe and from Europe to other continents. The total offset was 50,990 tCO2e which supported an EcoAct verified wind farm project in India. In 2021, Asendia announced that it would now offset emissions on international transport worldwide.

As of 2022, not only will Asendia offset all international transport emissions, but it will also include first mile collection, last mile delivery, returns, building emissions, machinery, and business travel.

Offsetting from 2021 and 2022 will support another EcoAct verified wind farm project, this time in China where coal still covers nearly 70% of the country’s energy needs.

Our world is becoming more connected than ever, and international delivery is a big part of that connection. As one of the largest global logistic providers, we at Asendia know that protecting our planet comes first. From January 2022, we are taking a big step forward by off-setting 100% of all carbon emissions. We are excited to lead the way in our industry and will continue to find sustainable solutions for our clients in the future.
