Difficulties accessing charging or refueling infrastructure, lack of suitable land resources, inconsistent local traffic and parking regulations, difficulty accessing delivery areas... the implementation of sustainable logistics solutions still faces obstacles in the field.
Local authorities : essential partners for sustainable urban logistics
To overcome these obstacles, La Poste proposes to work with local authorities, particularly metropolitan areas.
These authorities have powerful levers at their disposal (regulation, urban planning, public procurement, development and urban planning, etc.) for implementing virtuous urban logistics.
Keen to preserve the attractiveness of the region and the living environment of its inhabitants in a context of regulatory changes (generalization of regulated areas such as Low Emission Zones (LEZ), Limited Traffic Zones (LTZ), pedestrian areas, etc.), they are now necessary and valuable partners for La Poste and all professionals in the sector.

Agreements with metropolitan areas for more breathable cities
La Poste Groupe is proposing to develop a joint roadmap for all major cities. The aim is to create a sustainable logistics system that is “chosen” and “accepted” and fully integrated into the city's development and attractiveness objectives.
Eighteen cities have already committed to an agreement with La Poste Groupe. Joint action plans have been defined and their implementation is being overseen by a committee comprising representatives from the city and La Poste Groupe.

Mobilize all levers
The expertise of La Poste Immobilier
To offer this support, La Poste draws on the expertise of its real estate arm, La Poste Immobilier, for sustainable real estate projects.
The latter develops a comprehensive approach (functional, urban, architectural, and environmental) to urban logistics through renovation projects or the construction of new infrastructure.
These projects incorporate the latest environmental standards: they are all low-carbon, reversible, and integrate renewable energies while meeting the environmental constraints of cities.

Investments to strengthen the urban logistics real estate portfolio
Through its real estate division, La Poste continues to develop a network of urban logistics real estate infrastructure for all its operators:
• €200 million investment by 2026 to complete the existing logistics real estate portfolio.
The group is investing €200 million to continue developing its logistics facilities through refurbishments and renovations of its real estate portfolio, or new acquisitions. These investments are spread throughout France and cover all types of logistics sites.
