Geopost puts delivery professionals at the heart of safer and moresustainable delivery
Bringing together Europe’s best delivery drivers to showcase their expertise
The 32 finalists competed in a series of challenges directly inspired by their day-to-day work: vehicle technical inspections, eco-driving, circuit manoeuvres, agility courses, timed hand-delivery and parcel locker delivery exercises, and driving on hazardous roads. For the first time since the launch of the Delivery Excellence Challenge in 2022, an electric heavy goods vehicle was included in the competition, illustrating Geopost’s commitment to decarbonising long-distance transport.
Making safety a shared skill
The 2026 edition places health and safety at the heart of the operational experience. The challenges assessed drivers’ ability to identify vehicle defects, anticipate risks, and adopt safe behaviours both on the road and during delivery operations.
The competition showcases the close relationship between safety, service quality and environmental performance. Participants are assessed on a range of skills that are essential to their profession, including responsible driving, punctuality, professionalism, the quality of customer interactions, and the care given to recipients.
I was very pleased to be in Warsaw alongside Yves Delmas, Executive vice-president of La Poste Groupe and CEO of Geopost, and meet the drivers who represent our businesses on the road every day. Their professionalism and commitment are remarkable, but what matters above all is that they can carry out their work safely and look after their physical and mental well-being. At Geopost, we are working to make prevention part of everyday operations, through training, safer working practices, vehicle checks and initiatives designed to reduce physical strain. Health and safety are responsibilities we all share, and this Challenge is a valuable opportunity to put those principles into practice, learn from one another and continue improving across our network.

Combining service excellence with the environmental transition
La Poste Groupe currently operates a fleet of 36,000 electric vehicles worldwide, enabling it to reduce greenhouse gas emissions generated by its activities by more than 3% since 2024.
In France, greenhouse gas emissions from parcel and mail operations have fallen by 32% since 2013.
At the international level, its subsidiary Geopost continues its energy transition with 12,000 low-emission vehicles, representing 17.3% of its delivery fleet, and has reduced its greenhouse gas emissions for the fourth consecutive year.
Thanks to their performance throughout the competition, Phil Coulter from DPD Ireland won the title in the light vehicle category, while Mathias Klingebiel from DPD Germany distinguished himself in the heavy goods vehicle category.
