Docaposte launches Docaposte santé with the ambition of building France’s leading sovereign digital health player
Summary
Docaposte creates Docaposte Santé to bring together its digital health activities. This new organization aims to structure and secure health data, streamline care pathways and integrate AI, within a sovereign and trusted framework serving professionals and local health systems.
Digital technology is a powerful lever to address the structural pressures facing the French healthcare system: an ageing population, the rise of chronic diseases, growing strain on medical resources, fragmented care pathways and an increasing administrative burden on healthcare professionals.
Deployed within a sovereign, ethical and secure framework, digital health solutions offer concrete answers to these challenges by structuring data more effectively, streamlining care pathways, enabling collaboration across stakeholders and integrating artificial intelligence into healthcare delivery.
With over ten years’ experience in the healthcare sector, Docaposte — the digital subsidiary of the La Poste Group — is creating Docaposte Santé with the ambition of becoming the reference digital health software publisher and operator in France.
Docaposte Santé brings together Docaposte’s complementary capabilities in healthcare IT: hospital software publishing, orchestration of care pathways, interoperability with national core services (such as the shared electronic health record and the national health identifier), and digital solution integration. It will also leverage Docaposte’s expertise in health data hosting, sovereign cloud infrastructure, AI, cybersecurity, UX and service design.
Putting sovereign digital technology at the heart of care pathways
To deliver on this ambition, Docaposte Santé is promoting a new vision of hospital information systems built on open, data-centric architectures, relying on interoperability standards such as openEHR, FHIR and OMOP.
This approach is designed to move beyond legacy systems composed of isolated application silos, enabling the secure, structured and meaningful circulation of health data between authorised stakeholders.
Docaposte Santé seeks to help healthcare organisations, professionals, medico-social actors and local territories work together more effectively, make better use of data and anticipate healthcare needs — all within a trusted, sovereign framework.
A roadmap built around five priorities
As part of its roadmap to 2030, Docaposte Santé has defined five overarching objectives: connecting stakeholders to streamline care pathways and access to care; structuring and securing health data flows; improving the operational efficiency of healthcare organisations; freeing up clinicians’ time; and developing predictive, population-based health approaches.
To deliver on these objectives, Docaposte Santé is focusing on five priorities:
Reinventing the electronic patient record (EPR) as a data-centric, open system, natively enhanced by AI
Embedding AI across all hospital software solutions
Positioning DALVIA as the platform for integrating AI use cases
Scaling the care pathway orchestration platform at regional and territorial level
Unlocking the value of data through health data warehouses
The creation of Docaposte Santé is aligned with Caisse des Dépôts’ strategic roadmaps — “Health and Ageing” and “Digital Horizon 2030” — which aim respectively to support population ageing and health innovation, and to accelerate the digital transformation of the French economy while strengthening technological sovereignty across territories.
With Docaposte Santé, La Poste Santé & Autonomie — which since 2023 has brought together La Poste’s local human services and Docaposte’s digital health expertise — is taking a further step towards building a structuring public player serving the public interest. La Poste Santé & Autonomie reaffirms its ambition to provide a comprehensive response to the needs of citizens, healthcare professionals and public sector stakeholders.
Because health sits at the heart of sovereignty, ethics and trust, it is one of Docaposte’s key growth sectors. By consolidating our capabilities within Docaposte Santé, our goal is to reach critical scale to design, operate and industrialise digital solutions capable of supporting the transformation of the healthcare system.

The creation of Docaposte Santé confirms La Poste Santé & Autonomie’s ambition to drive the digital transformation of our healthcare system. We are deliberately building a publicly owned operator able to put data, AI and sovereign cloud technologies at the service of healthcare professionals and patients — so that digital tools finally make care easier, not more complex.
